
Hyundai’s luxury Genesis returns for 2011 with more horsepower from the Tau V-8 and more standard features for the Genesis 4.6 by including all of the Technology Package. Genesis 3.8 keeps the same features and starting price of $33,000.

The Genesis 3.8 is powered by a 3.8-liter, V-6 engine producing 290 horsepower and 264 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to an Aisin six-speed Shiftronic automatic transmission. The 4.6 is equipped with a 4.6-liter, V-8 engine producing 385 horsepower and 333 lb.-ft. of torque and paired to a ZF six-speed Shiftronic transmission. The 4.6 makes the trip to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds. Drivers can opt to use regular fuel with engine output reduced to 378 horsepower.
Genesis safety features include stability control, antilock brakes with force distribution and assist, active front head restraints and eight airbags, including side-impact and side-curtain airbags. The Genesis earned five-star crash test ratings for front and side-impact in tests by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
