
Coming off its freshman year, the Genesis Coupe’s revised lineup drops from seven to six models, including the new 3.8 R-Spec. The new model joins five others, three with the 2.0T engine and two with the 3.8 V-6. No pricing has been announced for 2011; however the price range for the 2010 models started at $22,000. Starting with the same 3.8-liter, V-6 engine as the other 3.8 models, the R-Spec adds the bigger Brembo brakes and more aggressively tuned suspension of the Track model. The engine produces 306 horsepower and 223 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission (there is no automatic option), which delivers a top speed of 149 mph. The R-Spec rides on 19-inch wheels with front-to-back staggered width high-performance Bridgestone RE050A tires. Among the features shared among all Genesis Coupe models are stability and traction control; four-wheel disc antilock disc brakes with electronic force distribution and brake assist; six airbags; quick-ratio, hydraulic rack-and-pinion steering.
