
While the Elantra sedan has been around since the early 1990s, the Touring has only been in the U.S for a few years. The midsize, five-door hatchback comes in two models, GLS and SE. New features on the entry-level GLS include a “headlight welcome” function that illuminates the headlights when the open button is pressed on the keyless remote and EZ Lane Change Assist, which flashes the turn signal three times when the stalk is depressed slightly. Hyundai adds sportiness to the SE by expanding on the GLS Popular Equipment Package with leather seats, heated front seats, power sunroof with tilt and slide, leather steering wheel and shift knob, B&M Racing sport shifter on the five-speed manual transmission, fog lights and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Touring is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine producing 138 horsepower and 136 lb.-ft. of torque and mated to either a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual transmission.
