2011 Hyundai Sonata

It is official Hyundai decided not to offer the new 2011 Sonata with a six-cylinder engine, saving 50 to 100 pounds of weight that helped boost fuel economy. The 2011 Hyundai Sonata listed in the best gas mileage cars as ranked by the United States Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency according to government tests. Hyundai’s recent move exemplifies what many auto manufacturers are currently focusing their engineer efforts.

Many Automakers are increasingly using advanced technology to raise fuel economy with the biggest trend can be seen among trucks and cars that are between model years with an emphasis on improving mileage for sedans. Historically these vehicles have been looked at as gas guzzlers and they are now being looked to for significant changes. In fact, several have made four-cylinder engines as powerful as older six-cylinder motors. They're using transmissions with six or more speeds, direct fuel injection and tires with less resistance. Hyundai has recently decided to offer an updated Sonata that is improved for fuel mileage making it more environmentally friendly and will save VA Hyundai and Washington DC drivers at the gas pumps. So whether you are accustomed to shopping at a Washington DC Dealers or an Alexandria Hyundai Dealerships, you owe it to yourself to test drive the new models from Hyundai.

John Krafcik, Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor America notes that the decision against featuring the six cylinder engine in the 2011 Hyundai Sonata was a strategic one. The company chose instead to design a new four-cylinder engine with technology that directly injects fuel into the cylinders surrounding the pistons. That technology uses less fuel and generates more horsepower than conventional engines, a very smart idea judging by the way Virginia Hyundai shoppers and Manassas Hyundai buyers make their decisions to shop these days.

According to John Krafcik, he suggested that “Customers shopping for mid size cars generally have families and need space for children, yet they are budget-conscious,” it sounds like the primary competition in Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Chevrolet and Hyundai are looking to step up their model offerings to compare with what’s been done in 2011 to the Hyundai.
